About Us
Welcome to Coulee City
Coulee City is a small town with a big heart located on the southern shore of Banks Lake, Washington.
Banks Lake is a man-made lake, 27 miles long, which was created as part of the Columbia Basin Project, with the intent to distribute water to downstream farms and ranchland. With species including walleye, smallmouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, burbot, channel catfish, carp, kokanee, whitefish, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, and yellow perch, Banks Lake does not disappoint and provides great access for year-round fishing.
Our little town hosts a variety of businesses and our robust Chamber of Commerce supports many events throughout the calendar year, which provide fun and entertainment for many residents and even more visitors. Our Easter Egg Hunt, Kids Fishing Derby, ACH Foundation fundraiser, and Last Stand Rodeo are huge highlights supported by our local businesses.
Area recreation sites like Dry Falls, Sun Lakes, Blue Lake, Lake Lenore, and Soap Lake are within an easy drive to the southwest. To the north, Grand Coulee Dam and Roosevelt Lake also provide endless opportunities for fun. Our location directly in the middle of all this recreation makes us a preferred destination.
Our incredible schools provide a source of pride and enrichment to our community as well. You can find a great turnout at our school events, from sporting goods to the annual ACH fundraiser.
Originally settled in 1881, as McEntee's Crossing, our town was incorporated in 1907. From then till now, Coulee City thrives because of the people who call it home.
